Weekly Photo Challenge: Waiting

Waiting takes time, such that there’s a saying in racing, in motocross especially: “Hurry up and wait.” At the races, we arrive early to sign up for our class(es). Then, we go out for practice – a good 30-45 minutes – and come back to scope out our competition at the rider’s meeting. After that, we return to our truck to slam a sandwich and then we wait for our race to start. For some people, this could take hours, but for me, it was usually less than 30 minutes ’til race time. Of course, after my race, I watched and waited for everyone else to finish, so there was always that matter of waiting.
