If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.
It’s my favorite time of year in Florida, partly because I don’t suffer from seasonal allergies. My friends, on the other hand, always ask me to roll the windows up while riding in my car, won’t sit outside when we go out to lunch and refuse to go anywhere without their box of tissues, Allegra and nasal spray. Thank God for sunglasses!
I read recently that Daytona Beach ranks No. 1 in allergens prevalent this time of year. Go figure! From the Daytona Beach News-Journal, “Henderson, Nev., is second, but Florida claims four of the six sneeziest spots on the Weather Channel’s pollen count.” I checked weather.com to see how bad it really was for New Smyrna Beach.
And, while people in the northeast are still complaining about snow and rainy weather, the only thing that bothers me is, just hours after washing my black car, it’s covered in a yellow layer of pollen, again!
