Ta-da: Meaning here it is, or look at this craziness!
I just wrapped up my interview with Troy Adams of BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki. He’s really looking forward this weekend’s supercross in Jacksonville. It’s a hometown race for Troy, who grew up in Brooksville, Fla., but he’s especially pumped after getting taken out last weekend in the main event at Cowboys Stadium. I asked him about that: “It is what it is,” he said, and a lot of other things. I was particularly curious about how he landed himself on the Miami-based BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki team. To me, it seemed like a no-brainer since most of the team grew up in Florida and came through the amateur moto scene together. He talked about putting his name back on the map: “This whole year, my goal was just to get my life back on track,” he said. To seal his spot on the team, Troy shed more than 25 pounds in just about 2 months, but he failed to tell me how…Bummer.
The press in Jacksonville just answered some FAQ’s about this thing called supercross.
Great lede in the Alabama Live.com story about the GOAT: Ricky Carmichael knows all about stinking up the show.
Bad news out of California. Glen Helen Drops Out Of AMA Nationals after hosting more than 14 AMA Nationals and three GP’s over the last 20 years. Surprise, surprise. It all comes down to politics. “Due to the lack of equality in the (contractual) terms, Glen Helen is unable to move forward with a National at this time.”
On another note, I’m planning a travel story about this skate and BMX park in Wayland, N.Y. Sweet!
