The Florida Supreme Court ruled Thursday that parents can’t sign away their child’s right to sue in the event of an injury arising from sports like motocross. Though I’m not too sure what this means for the future of the motocross industry, I can remember my dad signing minor release forms for every race I ever entered under the age of 18, and it was common knowledge that we weren’t going to sue if anything were to happen. Racing is risky! That’s part of the appeal. Now, if a track won’t allow for children in fear of litigation, how will the future stars of the sport ever really get a chance to shine?
